Services
I started Denys Builds Designs to bring greater harmony to the design and build phases of renovation. Designers often have wonderful ideas, but they aren't always practical or affordable. Likewise, a skilled builder may be very practical but lack the aesthetic sense of a designer. As both a master builder and an experienced, creative designer, I can give you the best of both worlds.
Download my Renovation Service Guide to see what issues can affect the cost of your renovation and how combining the design-build process can save you money and guarantee your satisfaction.

Design
Successful design is the result of a cooperative process. All clients have their own needs, tastes and ideas. As a designer my job is to create a collaborative, comfortable rapport wherein we can combine my skills and experience with your requirements to find the perfect design for you. Browse through the Gallery to see just some winning examples of this process.
To keep fully up-to-date with the latest styles and technologies I attend major North American trade shows such as the National Kitchen and Bath Show in Chicago and the Interior Design Show in Toronto every year.
Build
As a third-generation skilled tradesman, I take great pride in the craftsmanship I bring to every single job. My clients benefit from construction techniques that have become quicker, cleaner and more accurate every year over the last two decades. For example, I use the latest dust-reducing power tools to keep your home clean and tidy.
I regularly participate in building science conferences and symposia to ensure that I am fully versed on the latest issues affecting home building and renovations. From roofing to foundations, from windows to floors, I can address any questions you may have, armed with the most up-to-date information.
I am committed to green building principles and donate harvested materials to Habitat for Humanity.

The Design/Build Process
How does the process work?
- General on-site consultation: We begin with discussion about general pricing, design ideas and choices
- Information gathering and sharing of choices: We explore options through photos, links, and samples.
- Evolution of design choices: Based on what we've discovered, sketches and CAD models, bring it all together.
- Focusing of final choices: Plans are finalized. Permits and variances are dealt with.
- Committing to construction: A construction contract is drawn up and signed.
- Construction: Your space is transformed in as non-invasive method as possible. Adjustments are made for site conditions such as tweaking sizes, shapes, and final placements to ensure the best results.
- Completion of construction - last touch ups
- Your continued enjoyment and satisfaction of your space!
